What are SOPs?

Solution: Empower staff to vaccinate by standing order programs and protocols (SOPs).

• SOPs empower non-physician medical personnel to assess each patient's immunization status and administer vaccines without direct physician involvement at the time of the interaction or an individual physician's order.    

• Practices should have on file preapproved orders to vaccinate a class of patients with specified vaccines by a standard protocol.
